Thank you for arranging the charter. We got back yesterday and it all went very well.
The taxi company Taxi Stenungsund provided an excellent service. Henrik provided a good briefing and support service at the base, though the marina at Wallhamn has very few facilities – no showers, or shops or restaurants.
We went to Marstrand to pick up the dingy but at the end of the week left it with the yacht at Wallhamn
We got as far as the Väderöarna & had good weather on most days – you are fortunate to live in a very good cruising area.
It was interesting to try the HR 372 which is an improvement even on HR’s traditional good designs, having the largest cockpit of any boat in their range and in my view the best designed fore cabin and heads.
We called in at Ellos and spent one night at the HR marina where we met Christoph Rassy who had also called in for the night with his boat.
We found the yacht very well maintained and specified, except for some safety equipment and a few other items.
I appreciate that the boat is mainly used for coastal sailing but for charter of an EC Category A – Ocean yacht, I expected life jackets not buoyancy aids. In case of rough weather it should also have life lines with a crutch strap and attachment points in the cockpit and attachment lines along the deck. A life raft would also be required in the UK & has been provided on all other boats we have chartered round the world.
Performance sails are excellent.
